Singing in the RAIN....Just singing in the R-A-I-N......
Have you ever noticed that on the days that you feel oddly tired, so does everyone else around you. i think it is because this is the first cloudy day we have had in awhile. Oh and lo and behold....it is poring down rain outside. Let the fall showers begin! Yeah I just have been in a weird funk all day. I am not mad I am at school and I am not happy....I am simply complacent. I hope I used that word right. Tonight mary and I are going to bake muffins, so I can bring them for my business capstone group tomorrow morning because we are meeting early before class. It is literally dumping rain outside. I hope it is not like this at practice. But then again I love wearing spandex! I have missed wearing them. Except how am I going to get home tonight? All of these are valid questions. I don't think I said anything about Kaley getting in her car accident last week. So she was sitting at the stop sign before you cross over to get to our street. and so you have to cross over a pretty big intersection and she was sitting there awhile and all the sudden out of nowhere an old lady comes at 45 miles an hour and rear ends her car. Her poor little green bean is completely smooshed in the back and her head and neck are still not feeling too good. Her car is totalled and then she goes on to tell me that she was going to get a car in about 3 weeks anyways and was going to just give me her car. All I could do was laugh! I know that sounds weird, but you know when things are just too outrageous you just can't be mad....so I laugh. But that girl has been through a lot this past month, so if everyone could be praying for her that would be great. Just a lot of things have stacked up. Like her grammie dying, her car, coming back to school, having to deal with school on top of everything else. So be praying! That would be great! :) Someone was just outright singing in the library. It was hilarious. She had her headphones on, but everyone could definately hear her. It was one of those moments that you read about in the embarrassing section of a magazine. At least she was on tune! I have to go to practice now, but there is my Tuesday afternoon update! Peace!

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?.....no
No no football for me. It seems to be that is all anyone talks about anymore. Beavers and Ducks and Seahawks and 49ers......I don't care. But then I like football because it makes me realize that fall is here. I am obviously obsessed with fall. I can't help it. Its just the way I am. I think I will make apple crisp. that sounds amazing. I have not gotten to see mary yet today, but I think ryan and her tye-dyed shirts yesterday. I will have to see how they turned out. So the other day during our thursday workout mares and I had quite the rough practice. We did all these 220 meter hill repeats. That part was amazing. We were rockin and rollin and then we have to do this thing where we are supposed to go medium hard for 15 minutes. Mary's upper thigh felt like it was constantly flexed. no good. I was not feeling good during our last 15 minutes, and at 8:30 min. I all the sudden got an awful side ache and started not to be able to get hardly any air into my lungs. So we made it to 9:45 and we stopped and I started hyperventilating and had some sort of asthma attack thing. it was scary. but I made it through! I think it was the heat and maybe some dehydration. I dont know, but i hope it does not happen again. Church was really good again today. I went by myself, but a girl that mary knows was by herself too so we ended up sitting together! So I had a buddy! YAY! We talked today about forgiveness and how that changes us. He had the stories of the adulturous woman and Zaccheus. and the challenge for the week was what are we going to do in the next seven days with our relationship with God and how does that flow out to those around us. I am always glad when I get up and go to church. Anyways. Love you all and I hope that this will catch you up! :)
Crispy
It is a crisp fall day out with the sun shining, a soccer game going on and the leaves are finally starting to change colors. I love fall so much! I think it is my favorite season because I love to bundle up and wear lots of sweaters and jeans and boots! It has been quite an eventful weekend, but relaxing and just what I needed. Let's see it started out with the 80s dance on Friday! Mo and I went and got a bunch of brightly colored things to make our outfits. I puffy painted a purple swearshirt and had black leggings on, a bright yellow flinstone necklace and tall socks to look like leg warmers. My hair was huge and I had tourquise eye shadow on. It was legit. So we danced the night away to some 80s beats and had a blast!! thank the lord for goodwill or I am not sure where we would have found such wonderful apparel! Soooooo.....had practice yesterday morning. Went to Kaleys grandmas memorial service. Went home and then Ben Hargrove came from Corvallis. Once he came over we ate and then got ready for a game night! We wanted root beer floats, which turned into mo and I still getting root beer, but switching the ice cream to birthday cake ice cream. And so we never had root beer floats. Right now I am scrunching my eye brows because I am sad we never had them. :( B-day cake ice cream is only good by itself and kind of makes you feel gross after about the 3rd bite. So I am not quite sure if it was worth it. Taboo and Battle of the Sexes were the games of choice. Then Alex got a call and finally got to take Mo and I to Muchas Gracias, which is a 24 hour mexican place in McMinnville. It is one of his favorites and he has been wanting us to go for nearly 3 years, so we all piled into 2 cars and headed over. It is definitely a place I would laugh at as I drove by because it looks so sketch. But I am glad I did not judge a book by its cover because the Oregon Burrito I got was totally worth it!! Supposedly they are getting one in about a block away from where I live in Newberg. Sweet! Now it is Sunday and it has been a GREAT day so far. With riding my bike to church, running, just chillin and now I am at the gym working. Tomorrow I have a test in Foods class. Blah. No thank you. I have tests in barely any of my classes this year. I feel as though there is more to say. I will write another entry in a bit.

Sunday Funday y'all!!
I don't know so much about fun-day. But when it rhymes you have to go for it! So right now I am sitting in the gym just working away. And by working I actually mean sitting at a desk and washing some towels every once in awhile. Not my idea of a hard days work. But 4 hours is 4 hours no matter how you slice it. Tonight is my business capstones first team meeting!! I know almost everyone on the team and I did get into Joey's group! Yesterday was crazy because I woke up at 11:34. What? I know 11:34 in the afternoon. I must have needed it. I did not think to set an alarm because seriously who sets an alarm for 11 in the afternoon?!? Normal people wake up at decent hours of the day like 8 and 9. Oh well it was one day! The Hargroves were in the area because they are dropping Ben off at school today. Ben is in college. Weird. We had Papa Murphy's and hung out. Then off to Lincoln City (the beach) for some fun in the sun! It was Ben, Josh, Joey, Mo and I. And of course dan and ruth. We only stayed about an hour and a half at the beach because josh had to be back for the volleyball games. Red Robins was our next destination, which was our second choice since TGIF was closed due to "business reasons". Sketchy. Need I say more. The Hargroves are always so kind and bought us dinner, which college kids always love! :) We hung out at our house until they had to leave. It was sad to see them go! It ended up being an eventful Saturday even with my late start! And today has just been laid back. Went to church, lunch and now work! Not too bad if I say so myself. School will start getting tougher here in a little bit! Everything is based on groups! Group projects, group presentations, group research etc. At least it is sunshiney outside today! I have enjoyed going to Northside consistantly over the past month because it makes it more of a home church than just one I hit every month or two. They are starting a new serious on God's Love. Today's sermon was really good. It was about how deep and wide and amazing the Love of God is. So yeah there's that! I am doing pretty good on the updates, which I am rather happy about! :) I will keep them coming!
peace.

I've hit a new level of lame....the teen pop station on pandora.
That has nothing to do with what I am actually posting. I just had to get it out there. Right now Ashley Simpsons song L-O-V-E is on....now it will be stuck in my head all night. Today was a GREAT day. Starting with a little sleeping in til 10. Last night we made smoothies, which let me tell you was quite the accomplishment after laying around for two hours in our living room telling ourselves we had to do something. Kaley kept telling us she wasn't going to do her 5 point assignment and then started it again. That happened at least 20 times. I think she did it???!!?? who knows. Then all the sudden it turned to an all out girls night with nails being done and smoothies and mac and cheese. Sooo great. Fridays are the only day i get to sleep in usually! It was the best!!!! i need to get some new vocab words soon. I only have $1 words. And then I find myself using them far too much. But what is the use of long words when you are a business major.....yep not much use. But just for my own self esteem I think I will try to use some. maybe there is a way to get a word of the day thing on here?? abbie?? I need to spice this blog page up. For all 5 of my readers. They expect quality. oh my i am way off topic. GOOD NEWS: 1. I had a stellar race as far as knowing I was racing. It was a hard course. And awfully hot. so woo hoo. GFY is putting up a new sports website so once they do that I will put the link up because there are pictures from the race today!!! :) 2. Our landlord put in a new washer machine today! So I am thinking that means no more bird and train sounds........I hope.
BAD NEWS: Missed chad's gig by literally 10 minutes tonight. I came at 9 and he was done at 9. Bummer city. But GOOD NEWS: the other band was amazing. it was tango alpha tango and they had a really good set. So at least I got to see them! And also good news is it has not been raining too much yet. how about let's keep it that way.
Okay none of my roommates are here and this stupid house is creepin me out. I just checked the locks. Actually I just lied I didn't check the locks, but I will just to make sure no creepers come creepin. After reading that last sentence I would say it is about time I took a shower and headed to bed.
*Side note to mom and g-ma strutz. I cleaned my room spick and span today. Thought you would be proud of me. Being all adult and cleaning up after myself! :)*

wa wa wa wednsday!
hmmm.....this week has been relatively chill. Today was my first day experiencing the Oregon downpours and my bike. I rode home and once I was inside the doors surveyed the damage and realized there was no salvaging my outfit because I was soaked! SOOOO.....my roommates are worried about me this winter, but alas I always figure something out. Walking should not be too bad. I say that now...until the freezing coldness comes. We just had African tea night where some people come over, all of whom went on the trip with us, and we just have, well...african tea and sit on our porch and talk. I have noticed I have to be a lot more intentional about friendships these days. Just being off campus and being a senior. Its a lot harder to be involved!! Today I also had senior capstone business group interviews. Joey, Molly's boyfriennd, is going to work really hard to get me in his group! So I am crossing my fingers because I know we would come up with a viable and professional business with him as our leader. I kind of am regretting not applying to be a leader, but I know I would not have had the time to put my full attention to being a leader of a group. And I am looking forward to soaking up all that I can through this hands on experience. I am pumped for the race on Friday at Willamette. It is a grass course, so that should be nice. I have never ran it before and I am ready to have a break out race! I had my best practice yet on Tuesday, so that is encouraging! Okay i better go do homework and keep listening to my journey pandora station! I have to find some things that deal with nostalgic marketing! peace!

due to popular demand....MY BLOGGING IS BACK ON!!! WOOO HOO!! :)
Okay it has been awhile since I have written on my blog, but no worries, they will be coming more now that we have wireless at our little house. Speaking of our house it has been quite the experience living there so far. It is so old, so it has a lot of quirks. Like every time we do a load of laundry in the washer it sounds like a bunch of birds are in our house because it squeks and then all the sudden it sounds like a train is coming through. And then in the final spin cycle it literally shakes the entire house. Sometimes I think the house is just going to collapse. But I would not have it any other way. So far roommate stuff has been great. Except now that we have wireless our housemate steph, who I don't know super well, has been watching television shows constantly. I do not know how in the world someone can sit around that much. I would go crazy. My room has been about 200 bazillion degrees because it has been so hot. But now it is starting to cool off!! what a relief. Last night Mary, Ryan, Molly and I all went out to Grandma and Grandpa camps house. We did not get there until 7 and had to leave at 9:15, but it was soooo worth the trip!!! Just to get out of newberg for a little bit was refreshing and it is always so nice to see them and ryan had to ask them some questions for christian foundations, so we got to hear about how they became christians, how they met and about africa too!! It is encouraging to hear stories of people who have lived out their faith for so many years and to hear about struggles and successes and about serving wherever you are at. We have such amazing grandparents, like abbie said in one of her blogs, it is such a blessing every time I get to hang out with either set! so there's that. and school is school. My classes are not all that bad so far, but they are all about group projects that are worth most of our grade. We are reading this book, "5disfunctions of a team," right now for my senior business capstone. I am always interested in what makes a team tick and how to better understand how to have everyone work together to reach a goal. So more on that book later because I am only about 50 pages in. It is a story with lessons mixed in, so you get both entertainment and learn! there is so much more I need to catch everyone up on. BUt I will save that for later!!! I have to go and work at a SAAC event (Student athletic advisory committee). I did not know what it was when they contacted me, but i think it will be good on a resume! :) sooooo that's good. alrighty bye!
