TILLAMOOK TIME

Here I sit in Tilli Tilli. We were supposed to be here on Friday night, but the forecast said there was going to be freezing rain. The rain never came, but I am glad we did not go because it would have been scary to be driving in the pass between newberg and tillamook and have the ice hit. So all the people who think 20 year olds do not think about things....here is a strong example that we do. So moral of the story is...all of us are still alive. But we still decided to make a night of it and had everyone come over for pizza and games and movies. It was way fun. Everyone was tired from the crazy week we had all just had, but it was good to have everyone together. Kales and I came out here yesterday and went to Lincoln city and shopped with her mom. Fun fun. And then we came back to tillamook and ate, played games and watched its a wonderful life. And then church this morning. I always love coming out here!!!! It is relaxing and refreshing to be in a family setting. Sometimes the constant college kid thing can get old. I am exhausted today, but that usually happens at the end of the semester. At my last straw. And then I am in a wedding next Monday the 20th I think. I am so ready to be home and ready for a break, but I am trying to have fun the weekend before the wedding too. I don't have much more to say. Thank you for reading my very boring post.

Christmas list

Is it really really nerdy if the only thing that comes to mind when I think of my christmas list is that I want a SNUGGY? I make fun of them and then I want one. Hmmm....that is rather hypocrytical of me. I don't know what this posts point is besides just saying I want a snuggy and I am fully aware that it is a little odd. Now that my confession is out.... I will go along my merry way. And know that snuggies may make you look like a priest, but are ever so practical and warm. There ya go,
Peace love and cows

CHRISTMAS SEASON HAS ARRIVED!

I am trying to think positively about the next 3 weeks of school. And there are a lot of postives once you start thinking them up. We are having a whole decorating party at my house on wednesday, so the old rickety house will look beautiful for the season. The party planning committee (Me and kales) is having a meeting tonight to discuss the details. I will put some pics up from the event. Actually I just lied, seeing as the power cord to my computer broke there may not be too many changes happening in the next few weeks. I got a cord from ebay, but it won't let me pay for it for some reason. Guess I will just have to win another one for 99 cents. I do like ebay all the sudden. I like how you can watch the time go down and then you have won!!! But then I found out my shipping and handling was ridiculously high due to the power cord being in Hong Kong. Whoops missed that minor detail. Mares told the news about thanksgiving and the weekend. Bittersweet is definitely how I would describe it as well. It is just weird to know she won't be here anymore. The service was honoring to who she was, but ultimately who she served and how she chose to let Christ shine through her. She was an amazing aunt and I will forever treasure the memories I have been blessed to have had with her. The Camp family is a tight knit bunch and like mares said it will be funny to bring someone into it. It is a crazy time. I have more thoughts, but I am hungry and the blood sugs are low. WHICH everyone knows means bethany is starting to shut down. Or as Kales and mo say....I am like a 5 year old child....I need enough sleep, enough food and need to get my energy out in order to function properly. And the sad part is....it's true. Anyways more things later alligators! :) Love you all.
Peace

Whoofta

What a weekend. I do not feel rested but i would not have missed Julie's funeral for the world. Well back to the old grind! But this time we just have 3 weeks then home! 2 weeks of regular school and 1 of finals. I love hearing all the Christmas music in all the stores and seeing the lights everywhere in town! mmmm best time of the year! Today Jodi took me to get chai and the funny thing was that there was no chai in my drink! It was just warm milk! Haha! I guess Christmas is affecting everyone! Even the baristas. It really feels like winter here! Just no snow! I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is over. Nuts. Thanksgiving was a good one this year! We went to Gma and Gpas and helped grandma make dinner. Tim and Mika came over with Elijah and Bee and I played with him non stop!!! :) But we both loved every minute of it! Then later on we went over to Darrel and Kathy's for some of Kathy's amaaaazing pies!!!! Bethany and I again played with the kids non stop! Everytime we would go to talk with everyone at the table the kids would come tug on us and ask us why we were not playing! I cannot wait to come home for Christmas! After being with everyone this weekend for the funeral I just wanted to come home! Our family is pretty lucky. Lots of Love and Laughter! The funeral went well. Bitter Sweet. Being with everyone was the best part and honoring Julie. Our family is so BIG and LOUD!!! All of the unmarried cousins were talking about how we need to make a rule book for spouses entering into the Camp family! The book would include: love to eat, talk, play games, SING! there were more too but all i know is that whoever I bring into the family will be prepared! :)

Sorry I have not posted lately.

I don't know why I haven't. I just haven't. SO here I am atleast writing something so you all know I am still here. I just finished my cooking paper that I really did not want to write, but I have learned a lot about the glorious avocado. I now know I simply like to eat them and wish to know no further information on them. I am chillin in the lib and they are putting up the tree, which smells absolutely christmas-er-ific. That was dumb...how about just amazing? Okay that works. I have just been trying to focus on school and keep my head above water lately. My room is a disaster and I feel unorganized all over the place. But I have one more paper to write before tomorrow and then I have no classes on Wed. Kinda nice. I need to write more soon, but I am headed to lunch with mares. peace.

Monday Monday

So Bethany hasn't written on here in awhile! But I am going to write again even though I have been the last 3 entries! I have an Econ test today and have 2 big papers due. My brain really is not here. I have no idea how I will do on any of the things I turn in. Just praying that God can help me out a little. I cannot focus. I am pretty down, but trying to look at positives. Julie is with Jesus for goodness sakes! She is smiling and laughing and feeling good! Why am I so selfish to wish she was still here?
Today we meet with our coach for track. I still do not know if I am going to run. I am thinking I will but it kinda depends on my grades.
So I was pretty upset and down yesterday and the hot water in our dorm shut off. So Jodi and I went to her boyfriend Mike's house and showered there. I was getting out of the shower and I think God knew that I need to lighten up so i step out and slide across the floor for about 5 feet! I grab onto the curtain and make all these weird noises as I am trying to balance myself! Jodi was in the bathroom too and saw it all happen and we just died laughing!!!
Tonight is bball! WootWoot! can't wait! I wish we were coming home for Thanksgiving :( but Christmas will come quick! Peace.

What a week.

Goodness I cannot believe that it is already Sunday. This week has been... well interesting. Lots of just draining stuff! School was pretty good this week. I didn't have any tests or anything which was nice! My presentation went really really well! The class loved it! They liked how I just randomly asked a question... then chucked candy at the person that got the question right! They laughed! Even if I don't get an A on it, I am just happy that everyone in the class was at least entertained! O my gosh I forgot to tell you about the chickens!!! Bethany, Kaley, and I all have cut up chickens! Yes. We learned in class! It was pretty graphic but we all accomplished it with flying colors! When we first got the chicken in front of us we had to look inside to see if there were any organs left over inside. So all the girls are digging their hands in the middle of their chickens looking for yucky organs. I could not handle the thought of sticking my hand in there and pulling mushy stuff out! So i just grabbed my chicken by the legs and shook it upside down! The liver finally came out! I was so proud that I out smarted the system! Everyone else touched the livers, but Mary Strutz did not! Moral of the story=always shake your chickens. I', listening to country again. boop boop de doop. It was so much fun to skype with you, mom and abbie! I loved it! We won our game on Wednesday too! Bee didn't play with us because she had to go to one of her friends concerts. Today, kaley, bee, and i went to a church that was in sherwood. I really liked it! The talk was on Grace. Bethany and I bought new running shoes yesterday! much needed! Then we went to the mall where we ran into Bruce and Laurie (Kaley's parents)! They are so much fun! Then Bethany and I went into the GAP and we were not even 2 seconds in there when this really cute lady came up to me and asked if I had ever modeled. She said she works for a modeling agency and wanted me to call her on Monday to set up a 20 minute interview to see if i would be interested in making some extra money to pay for school! She said that their models have worked with lots of companys like Nike and Nordstroms. She must have been freaked out because I just stood there deer in the headlights look! Bethany had to kind of talk for me! Thank goodness she was there! I just couldn't believe that a modeling agent was talking to me! The website is modemodelsportland.com if you guys want to see what it is. I could make up to 150$ and hour which would be awesome! I am going to call the lady tomorrow and just see what is up. I am praying this through and wondering why God put this in my life right now. He has a plan! who knows if this will take me somewhere or if it was just a pick me up from him. Bee and I were pretty down shopping yesterday. Thinking of our aunt julie. Lots of prayers are heading her way. A lot of my friends are praying which helps me feel support and helps me look on the bright side. I am so happy you get to go out there mama! I am just praying that God can lift all of our family's heavy hearts. Tonight Bethany's house is having a hot dog hoe down... So that will be funny! I went to the guys basketball game in Monmouth last night. We lost : ( but it was still fun to go with my friend Steph! Last night I attempted to play video games again... but bethany was there too so we stunk together! Then they made us battle each other which i won :) but the hardest part was that we were not good at navigating our little guys so we could never find each other to shoot each other! But when we did we would just freak out and start shooting everything around us BUT the other person! We are running outside today!!!!!!! woooo! in new shoes. o it is a glorious day. We haven't ran outside for about 2 weeks! So it should feel nice! This is a long blog so I will stop writing!!!!!! LOVE YOU!

Ballin!

Woot! I got to play basketball last night and let me tell you... I MISSED IT SOOOO MUCH! Bethany basically tore it up on the court! Our team did pretty well which was encouraging! We won! My shot was off but bethany and Grace pulled us through! I got kicked in the same spot on my shin like 20 times! You forget how physical b-ball is. But I think that is part of the reason I like it! Grace and I shot around forever after the game just talking which was fun. She played in high school too. Can't wait to play again tomorrow... my calves are still sore sore sore. I feel like I am using them for the first time ever in the history of Mary! I am constantly leaning forward to try to stretch them out when I am walking but I probably look ridiculous. O well! I am really bored right now. And my phone is not working right. It doesn't get messages and I can't send them. And when I do send them the person I sent the message to doesn't get it for like a bazillion hours later. It stinks! So this is my outlet for talking right now! Since I cannot call/text anyone! Eggnog smaggity pogsnog I love eggnog! just a little rhyme for ya :) I bought some yesterday! YUUUUUM. I thought of you mama! I loved your comment Abbie how me drinking eggnog is like I am mom! Cuz it is totally true! But eggnog is de-lish... no matter what the haters say. I love it.This weekend is the first one in a long time where I don't have games to work! yipeeeee! So I think I will go to Urban Services Friday night. Which I cannot wait for! Urban Services is a group of students that go to down town Portland and serve the homeless a meal. You get to meet the people and just talk to them and show them Jesus. This week has been so good for me and my quiet times. It is funny when you make the time to focus on God you feel so refreshed. Bee and I are biking together in about an hour. Hopefully my hip feels good! We decided we aren't going to run until we have good shoes...well I better finish my homework! LOVE YOU!

SUUUUUNDAY!

Well the weekend is basically over... sad days. You work so hard to get to the weekend and then POW it flies by and you are left thinking ..."what in the world! How is it monday and why am i waking up to an alarm clock!" So i played Halo for the first time ever last night... it was interesting! I was pretty good at killing people but for some reason i could not walk straight!!! i kept getting stuck in the corners! All of the guys made me have the head set too! so i had to be the trash talker!!! needless to say i was aweful at it! i decided that when you do not grow up on video games you are horrible at them. and if you are not a boy too. that means you also are naturally bad at them! i think the guys just wanted me to play so they could laugh at me for getting stuck in corners and falling off stuff. but it was a blast anyway! Today bee and i played 2 on 2 with a couple of my friends. We dominated! not really but we won! i forgot how much you have to use your jumping muscles!!!!! o my goodness my calves are already super sore! we start our games tomorrow night so that will be fun! a whole hour of sprinting! yikes. i have a presentation due this week in British Literature. I am pulling a dad and making it really fun compared to other people's presentations. I am giving out candy!!! woot woot! hopefully no one is allergic to peanuts cuz that is the kind of candy i have! well i can't believe it's a new week tomorrow... holy bananas. peace.

I don't even know. Welcome to my life....

What a day. what a crazy day. I played 2 on 2 for the first time in a long time!!!! And let's just say it is def not cross country kind of in shape. i was dying out there, all the fast movement and sprinting. But I actually feel like I am way better than I was in high school after not playing for 6 years. i guess that is what happens when you are about 20 pounds stronger than high school. I even busted out some post moves. Dad would be proud. anyways....where to begin. I am not sure. So there has been this boy that we call "huggy boy" who gave me a hug one day after he saw me crying to mom on the phone outside the library. he saw me later and gave me a hug. Okay fine. great. that was super nice. And he was cute. so we say hi and stuff. He is super socially aware and everything so that is not a problem. He came into the gym today when i was working and I was sitting there with kales talking and we both said hi. and then I turned my back to keep talking to kales. after he left kaley reprimanded me because I am generally very cold to boys. I just am. whoops so sue me. If they want to talk to me then get my attention. Bad attitude strutz. I know. So I told her I would redeem myself and be friendly. And she left a wee bit later and when he came back in I struck up a convo. And here is another problem with being a nice girl....once I am in a convo, if they can hold a convo I will not shut it off. Does that make sense? I am just really quirky. my bad. This is all so weird. Soooooooooo anyways, we are talking and there were some major red flags that left me in shock.
Here are the facts:
a. I am pretty sure he still does not remember my name (bloop red flag)
b. He admitted that he smokes (bloop another red flag) (and disgusting)
c. He did not go to college because he knew he would party too much (say it with me....bloop another red flag)
d. He indeed did party too much (yep....red flag)
e. Got lots of DUI's
f. This is making me laugh as I write it....my life is pure comedy
g. He does not even want to stay in college at 24.....in fact has no real ambition.
h. He tried to pull the Bible study card.
i. Seriously this was probably a 10-15 minute conversation.
j. BLOOP......red flags!!! On e. g. h. and i.
k. My oh my, but I don't know where the heck all of this info came from. I never ask overly deep questions to people I have maybe talked to 2 times and said hi to once. They just came out of nowhere. Obviously he knows me super well. I am always impressed by smoking, lazy, partiying men......yep he pegged me.
l. Then later when I was down playing two on two he poked his head in to tell me that he left me his number to go to bible study on friday.
m. Not going. No way jose.
n. but I will still be nice
o. Why does this always seem to happen to me?
p. I just thought that story was hilarious. Just because it was me. but everyone....you would be proud. Welst he was oversharing....I was still attentive and nice. I wanted so badly to say....pause....do you realize what you are saying right now? do you want to restart.
q. I feel really bad for making fun. I just find humor in things. I can't help it.
r. I am trying to get to the end of the alphabet.
s. Church was AMAZING today.
okay I am done with the lettering, but church was just what i needed to hear today. I will talk more about it later when i am not:
*Hypogycemic (I really need to eat something!)
* Sarcastic
And when I have:
*My journal
* Everything sorted out in this head of mine
* More time than right now.

All in all I just needed everyone to know that story. But I did try. Kales was proud about that. I was not a cold hearted person. okay peace.

Rain Rain Go Away! We Have Soccer Games To Play!

So today was an interesting day so far! The stats crew were supposed to work 2 soccer games and two basketball games... well that is if the weather would have corroperated! The girls game got played through the first half then the heavens opened and all of God's rain poured down I sware!!! The poor girls were sliding around and looked like they were running in slow motion! The men's game got moved to Pacific tonight so I do not get to work that one either. But I do work the alumni girls game which i am uber excited to do!!!! I LOVE BASKETBALL!!!!!!! bethany and i are on a 3 on 3 team which will be awesome! I think we are naming our team "the coo boos." Grace (another girl on the team) and i came up with it when we were just messing around one night just being weird. I am just listening to country music and blogging... the perfect saturday! This week was a super weird week. We are supposed to take time off of running which is really hard! your whole body goes kinda bazurk when you stop! So bethany and i went on a long walk a couple days ago and just talked about life! I love my sister! and i miss my other sister : (. I have decided that coffee is not a good thing for me! every time i drink it i get really fidgety and feel like a really exciting thing is going to happen!!! I got this really cool keyboard cover off of ebay! It is keeping my keys clean and free of dust! and it is really quiet when you type on it... it definitely came from Hong Kong so i was kinda sketch on the whole thing when it came in a super small package so I thought maybe i ordered a keyboard pad for my phone on accident of something but turns out it was the right thing. I cannot wait to come home and bake and cook again! i need to cook! i guess my pumpkin that i carved got stolen last night!!!! o nooooooo!!!! poor little fella. he is most likely smashed... pumpkin soup. I sware we are re-living noah's flood right now! so much rain. O and by the way everyone my phone is losing reception all the time!!! so if i do not answer then you know why! it is being a crazy little guy. i don't know why! so sorry mom!!!! i really needed to talk to you too! poo. okay looks like i am working both bball games tonight. more mulah i guess! love you!

Some more fans....this is a big week

There is good news today. I am going to have more readers here pretty soon. Kaley has a blog and alex wanted my blog. So another 2 people are going to read it. I think that is an increase of about 50%. I am a happy camper. So maybe this will make me do more creative things on my blog....or maybe not. Why change? I like my blog the way it is. Hmmm....this week has been uneventful with not much homework and no cross. It is always wonderful to be off of cross the first few days and then I go kind of stir crazy. I posted some Christmas songs!!! I figured it was time, even if it is only early november....I had to just give in to the premature christmas spirit and channel it into some medium! Which turns out is my christmas playlist of amazingness. wooo hoo. Soon my ornaments will be here with the tryans. AND my knitting stuff. It is indeed the most wonderful time of the year. Only our house is I think below freezing. and it may be falling a part. Pretty sure any day now it is just going to collapse to the ground and I am sure the neighborhood would be happy it happened. We think our neighbors hate us. I don't know why they would. Okay I don't know where I was going with that. The Africa tea night crew helped make signs for Mo because yesterday was her last night of clinicals. And we blew up a bunch of balloons and put faces on them and stuff. Africa tea night is the best night of the week. (that was for you alex) If I don't mention my readers...they may never come back! :( I will have the pictures posted once I figure out why my computer won't download them from my camera. ugh. dumb. My brain feels sizzled from homework and staring at a compy in the overly quiet library for too many hours. So alas, this is the end of my boring post. I need to go on a long adventure so you all can read about it. Ideal plan for this weekend: Go on an adventure
Actual plan for the weekend: do homework and roll volleyballs
That just made me want to quite school and take a road trip. No worries that won't happen. Or will it....guess everyone has to keep reading to find out! :)
peace

CRASH!!!

Welcome to today. I call it crash day. What else I am going to break is a mystery, but so far I have broken my mugs handle and dropped a whole bunch of plates. I shall start from the beginning of this story. I was at lunch today when the first incident happened to me. Kaley and Chris were walking up to the table and I was real excited to see them and went to wave and say hi. Even though they were literally 2 feet from the table. So the why I waved will forever remain a mystery, but I do it every time people walk up. And this was a really big wave. What the heck was I doing. I digress, so anyways I do this huge overexaggerated wave type thing and end up knocking over my favorite glass (that is until my one kaley gave me comes this week) and the handle just popped right off. A clean break...so I suppose I can fix it. Okay keep with me now. This story does have a point. Or maybe not, but you have already read this far and now you are curious so you will keep reading! :) At the end of lunch in the bruins den, which is not the cafeteria for those of you who did not know. I have to take my plates back into the bon and we do not have trays anymore, so I was going in and sort of balancing my plates on top of my broken cup (b/c tea is a must) and as I went to grab my card the whole thing started to wobble. I kept overcorrecting myself. And I am not positive, but I think God hit the slow motion button on that moment for his own entertainment. Because wow it seeemed to last forever and I know what was coming, but you hate to admit it to yourself in those 5-10 seconds of cliff hanging horror. Oh man I wish you could have seen the ladies face when it happened. You would think she would have some crazy helpful concerned expression since I could potentially be spilling a plate with looked super miffed. I'm sorry the bon doesn't have plates anymore. They really should just for people like me who can't quite figure out what balance it apparently. Okay wow. So I turned my body to the side so my bobbling plates could come crashing to the ground where no one was. I act like I planned it, when in reality I was lucky. No one was in the hallway leading out, but they toppled to the ground with a loud crash. super loud crash. Like kaley said she could here it clean across into the bruins den and everyone looked over to see where the noise came from. But they couldn't see me. Only the people in the bon. Who all looked over and then this kid ninja, who is kind of this crazy kid everyone knows all over campus...he stands up and is like...woooo....and starts to slow clap. I got the slow clap today. and some other people cheered. And I pumped my arms in the air in victory. Because it is hilarious. i live for these moments. And then I picked up all the pieces with people walking in and saying... Ohhhhhhh.....yep I know people I spilled my plates everywhere you can laugh. I am laughing. And that is the whole story, so what else can I break? Who knows. But glass things and fragiel things should watch out! Alright clumsy me is going to a xc meeting where coach is going to probably tell us what he did wrong and then I am going to get all sad. And I will tell you about it. :( okay peace.

GOING BLOG WILD!!!

I have officially gotten kaley started on blogging. We may get a little carried away with trying to start different blogs for stuff. We were thinking about starting one for a group of us. Well, actually it is just Liz, mo, kales and I. Who were talking last night and decided we are going to do fruit of the spirits every month. Because last night we all had stories about patience and about how we are all being tried right now in that area. So i do not know what we are going to do with it. But maybe we could do a bible study and stuff. that is how I found that quote website. I was looking for patience quotes. Anyways. so kales and i were talking and think we could start a blog for us four or something...I am not sure if you can even do that. I need to ask abbie. And then we will all be authors and hopefully we can go online throughout the day and post things that are happening or verses or whatever. I could see me and kaley being really into it though. So we would just have to get the other girls stoked too. it could be a really cool tool if we used it. Liz was just talking the other day about how our house is not super community feeling yet, but I think we just all had to get used to living together and I think we will have an amazing comunity feeling once we do little things like this. I hope so anyways. Everything is going great in the house and I feel blessed to have fun people to live with!!! Anyways. Just thought I would tell you that. Don't know why. I just get on here and write whatever lately. Love you all! peace

I liked this one. I found it on that sight I found last night!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
- Maryanne Williamson

quotes

I found this tonight when I was looking up quotes. And they had a blog part, which I was stoked about because I have been looking for things to put on my blog!!! So I will put somemore on there. It was getting kind of late, so I figured I should go to bed. but here are some! :) nighty night.

BEDAZZLED BABEROCKERS

So my pictures may be confusing people....they were from Halloween and I will explain in this post. Ya know yesterday was an odd sort of day. Starting out with an awful race followed by one of the funnest nights I have had in a long time. So on Friday night kaley and I decided that it would be fun to go to our friend from africa, chris nicholsons, band's concert. It was at the hawthorne theater and we thought it would be a different way to spend halloween then just in newberg. mo and I we going to dress up like skittles, but then changes in plans meant that we were lucky enought to have kaley for the night too!!! I don't know how we do it, but we all end up having our "plans" work out perfectly. But maybe that is because our plans are moldable, last minute and we don't have any set way we think things will go. Which is just the way I like it. Oh yeah and mo decided she was not going to skip halloween for a clinical she could do the next week. So I told kales that I wanted to be a rock star because I just got my hair cut and I wanted to make it all crazy since it was so short. and thus began the emergence of something great. The "Bedazzled BabeRockers" The name may not seem like much, but it took us forever to come up with. So then kaley found a site where we could find our "rocker names" So here they are:
Kaley: Bella Volt (On Guitar)
Molly: Hillary Jett (On Keyboard)
Me: Nina Fox (On Drums)
So there you have it. The rock band. Basically being a rock star is easy.
Step 1: Get all the random stuff you possibly can
Step 2: It must be brightly colored and rediculous
Step 3: Put a bunch of sequins on things
Step 4: Come up with a rockin band name
Step 5: Make your hair crazy
Step 6: Get undersized instruments from the dollar store
Step 7: Put all of this together
Step 8: Make up rocker names
Step 9: YOu are a LEGIT BAND!!!! ROCK ON!!!!!
Step 10: You can't be a rock band alone. I forgot to say you have to have friends with the same dream and aspirations of being a rock band and hopefully making it big time.
That was my tutorial on how to step by step make a rock band. hope it helps. As you can see we were first timers, but I think we pulled it off fairly well. :)
The concert was great. We had some doubts once we were in downtown portland and saw all the people around, but we made it there alright and nothing happened! We got all lost, but that usually happens, so no biggy. Our friends Alex and Jack and another guy alex knows from billings ended up coming to the concert too. So we ended up going to get coffee afterwards. Overall a superb halloween night. We saw a ton of crazy people all over portland though. Kaley and I were talking about how sad it is that so many people think they have to do certain things to be "cool". It was just really sad to watch girls walk by in barely any clothes and when we were driving we saw a man being tackled by police because he was boligerantly drunk. I mean with just our normal selves and our friends. I just wish other people could do the same. :( Anyways that was a sad part of the night. But I was glad we went to the concert. And decided to be a ROCK BAND!!! Anyways I better clean up the gym. And yes I did cut my hair. And I posted those pics so you could see it mom! :) Love you all.

2 big projects. One day til they are due....

So you may ask....bethany, how far along are you with your projects? Are you going to pull an all nighter? And to all of you I say....I am almost done and it is 6 at night. Does everyone realize what has happened here? I am a convert. A convert into the world of starting things early, so that I 1) feel better about my finished product 2) I know what I hand in is actually my best work and lets see 3) i don't have to stay up all night putting it together. I would say those are healthy outcomes. Also, isn't there some saying where if you keep doing the same thing over and over again with the same negative results that is insanity? well I am no longer insane then. Because I have changed my ways. so this week I got molly into stumbleupon.com. It is this thing where you put in what you are interested and it will stumble upon different websites around the world that you never would know about otherwise. Kinda sweet. In super important news: I made an avocado/ lime pie today in class. I thought it was going to be super sick, but no it wasn't. Really. i am not just saying that because I am the one who made it. It did not have long enough to set, but it still tasted tasty. yummers. Okay let's see what else? Not much. My eyes feel all funny. Too much reading and stuff, but it will be done tomorrow. then onto the next thing, but killing two bigs with one stone is super nice. Oh also, I think my group is changing the direction we are going for the business class. It just appears that we have a super good idea, but not for the confines of the class. With everything the teachers want it basically has to be either an event, a service or a product. That can be terminated after 4 months. So we are probably going to do a paintball tournament. I don't know much about paintball. But I guess a lot of boys in our group do. A group from the monday class is doing a race. I wish we could do a race! :( But can't copy. anyways tell me your thoughts on that. It is sad that we had to cut our losses of time and energy and start fresh, but I think we hit a wall we could not manage to break through in our current situation. Anyways more news to come! peace

I'm Joining In!!!

Hi Family and Friends!
This is Mary! So Bethany and I decided it would be hecka sweet if I wrote on her blogspot too... that way I can write to you guys too and keep in touch too!!!! So today is kind of a rainy day. It has been raining all stinkin week! But that is okay! I like rain. Just stinks when you make your hair nice and straight and then you walk outside and... poof... it is curly! Right now I am in the library just finished a paper. yucky. But glad I got it done! Today there is no practice! We are tapering this week so we are barely running at practice. Super weird. I have so much energy! I feel like an ADHD kids and I just want to be doing something all the time!!! Conference is this weekend... really nervous. But a good type of nervous! The kind where you know once you get done with the race i will feel soooooo good and so proud that i accomplished this cross country season! And hopefully get to go to regionals! That would be AMAZING! The season has definitely been so fun/challenging/a growing experience for me! But it makes me think of all the disappointments that I experienced in highschool and how much those experiences have helped me with my xc season this year. Weird how God uses past things to help you with present situations. I'm going to the pumpkin patch today! My first pumpkin patch! Ryan is taking me there and then we are going to carve them! He has never carved a pumpkin so i get to show him all i know! My favorite part is taking out the guts! They feel so cool! I decided that i love all the seasonal candies! like candy corn! yummy... I love candy canes too when they come around! But i still do not like valentine hearts. Bethany and I are cooking our recipes in cooking class today. She is making an avocado pie and i am making a chinese eggplant dish. We had to pick a fruit or veggie and make something with it. I don't really know why I chose eggplant. Maybe because it is purple. I don't really know why I chose it though! I don't think i even like it. HA! Thanks Luke for sending me a text this week! And Grandma I need to call you back!!! it is so hard to find quiet time to talk with people on the phone! Plus my dorm has horrible reception for some reason... it is odd. Well I am going to get some lunchy lunch! Peace~Mary

Busy Day

Let's see....today is Sunday already. WOW!! I got your message grandpa! Sorry i have not called back yet. I am the worst at that. Church was super good this morning. It was about God's extravagant love towards us. And the man gave an example of getting two random letters in the mail from separate people and they had the same theme and everything. I am doing a horrible job of explaining it. But all in all it was about the way God shows his love for us in personal ways because we are in a relationship with him. So it was refreshing and a great reminder that the God I love and serve connects with me on a personal level every day and in every way. Good stuff. Kaley and I went to that and then came home and made lunch, which consisted of us making random sandwich creations. But they were tasty, so i was happy. And we cleaned the entire kitchen! Good job us. We went to grandma and grandpa camps last night to say hi and I guess goodbye to sontaya. Kaley, Mary and I went out there. We took Ryans car and mary and I had some trouble with it at first. It stopped in the middle of the road when we first started and kept dying. And then when we went to get gas mary went the wrong way to go to my house because she was more worried about not stopping, so the car would not stall. but we somehow made it there and back again without much of a problem after getting gas and filling the tire. Oh yeah grandpa ronnie came into the house after we had been there about 30 minutes and told us ryans right front tire was going flat. What did we do? went to a service station at gas station. And I never knew they had those. AND we dealt with the situation once we were there by getting out of the car and staring blankly at the air pump and then man just popped out of the gas station headquarters and helped us out. what a nice man. And he filled it and we were on our way. Lucky for ryan grandpa r is so observant. After that we ate AMAZING food, but grandma g of course said there were a number of things wrong with the meal. I always think everything tastes perfect. She is one of the best cooks. and I am starved of home cooked meals....so that could be a contributing factor. Georgia and Cole were there and us three played with them all night. We played simon says, london bridge, ring around the rosy etc. fun fun fun. They are about as cute as they come. And i am not just saying that. Georgia is hilarious. It was great to be around kids. When I landed awkwardly one time on ring around the rosy, cole looked at me and said "you shook the whole house." we were in the dining room area. So for all of you that know it shakes quite a bit. I could not stop laughing....thanks cole. And then when we were playing simon says, georgia was simon and she says, "Simon says...touch the big boy" and goes over and touches darrels arm. SOOOOO funny. I think kaley enjoyed coming too. Hopefully! :) Molly gets back tonight from Seattle where she met Joeys fam for the first time, so I am curious how that all went! Today i also worked again. lots of hours. Bringing the money in! I videoed the soccer game and it was chilly willy. yep chilly willy. For some reason there is not much else to say. I need to leave room for mary to tell some stories too. sorry mares. But I have to get her to start writing!
Off to bed I go. At 10. I am some wild and crazy college student. whoop whoop. :) night.

Trying this out

I signed mary up to be an author, so now she can write too. Now I just have to tell her about it. I talked to her tonight and we agreed it would be easiest to do it this way!! So now you get both of us!!! And the masses scream....HURRAY!!! :) right?

SATURDAY!!!!

It is kind of nice having a Saturday where the run is on your own and you can just kind of get things done. I cleaned my room super well yesterday. It had not been done in I think 3 weeks. It just kept getting worse and worse. Finally it feels like a nice place to be again!! Today I went to the Alumni board meeting because I got a scholarship. It was actually a good time. It just takes a second every time I go to events where I have to talk to people other than college kids. It is different. But I love to be with all ages. I miss it. I met a woman who knew our entire family. Her husband went to school with grandpa bob out here at western evangelical seminary. I never knew you went out here grandpa bob! I don't know why I never knew that!!!! Now I do! Her name was betty......and I really tried hard to remember her last name and now I cannot. But she said they have stayed with you in billings grandma and grandpa. And her husband worked at Fox when it first started I think she said and he did a job where he went all over for awhile and then she also said he pastored a church for about 15 years. Anything ringing a bell? She said to say hi to you. It is crazy how the strutz name just automatically has an in. weird. Someone else asked me if I was a chandler-strutz. Nope i am steve's kid. And someone else was 2 years older than brittanie and knew her. They asked us our names and majors and a little bit about ourselves. I was going to say and track and cross country and res life, but then all the sudden I was basically saying how blessed I feel to be at fox and that I was only going to come for my freshman year and how this scholarship has helped a lot. So there ya go! Guess that is what I was supposed to say. It has helped a lot. I mean $1,000 two years in a row is phenomonal. Great experience overall.
I was just talking to my friend merideth from Cody, WY and we were discussing what we are going to do after college and she is going to get her drafting associates down there at the community college. So we discussed some things. So there is another thing in the think tank. I do really like to draft. but have never had the opportunity to hone the skill because it always comes along side something else. But just an option like I said. And cody is only an hour and a half away. But then I have to look at cost benefits and so on. It would not be that expensive at all. but it would be weird to live there, but merideth is super cool and I could live with her.
So here are all the possible ways I could go:
First off we will look at both areas I would potentially live in:
Portland area and Billings.
PORTLAND:
Internship/Job
MBA program
Live and work
Be a bum

BILLINGS/CODY:
Internship/ Job
Intern as a youth helper person at church
I don't know what programs are there, but maybe do schooling in billings/bozeman
Live and work and get by (pay off loans)
Cody: get my drafting associates degree (takes 1 year)
Mooch off of parents......hahahahaha like that would ever happen.

Man when I write it out there are of options. So that is why I am writing them out. Oh my a baby story is on right now!!! Too bad abbie is not here. We like to watch it and cry. I need to go on a run sometime. but when? who knows! only 30 minutes though.
Mary's hip has been bothering her, but she keeps trying to tough it out. And yes I know you read this mary! :) But be praying her hip would heal up before conference so that she can rock it!!!! Only one week from today!!! I can't believe it is already here!
Alright I better go ahead and start my research paper. I just gotta do it!! I have an outline, so it should be really easy actually. Hopefully.
I love you all and thanks for reading. I am so glad I got this blog. That way everyone knows what is going on! Because I forget who I tell what to! I am going to post some pics of our pumpkin carvving and such! And Maybe do a slide show tomorrow when I work. I am working now. Sarah needed me to and I needed hours. Win win. OOOOKAY!! bye for now.

My fist presentation this year

It was my first presentation today for business Capstone. I presented on our marketing plan and it went awesome! I practiced the night before and worked hard on knowing what I was talking about inside and out, so that I would not ramble or not know what to say. It was a small victory, but a victory none the less!! I am realizing I have the right tools to utilize in order to be a good speaker....I just have to work on practicing them. I was just excited about it and wanted to tell all of you!!!!! Things are looking up today. I wrote an email to the other three women who are going to conference with me (yes one is Mary) and tried to refocus where we are going the next two weeks. I felt like we were all over the place and needed to come back to what we are here for. We are all tired and feel like we have nothing left to give to XC, but it is an honor to go to Conference and we need to all see it that way and show up to perform like we know we can. I was writing the email as much for myself as for them. I opened the door this morning to go outside and there was the hugest spider....ever. not ever, but it was like one with a gigantic body and those hairy legs. I am glad I looked or I would have walked right through it!!!!! :( yuck. So I opened the door and got it inside and squished it. Which is probably "unoregonian hippie" of me... :) But ya know it was gross and i just was mad that it surpised me and let's be honest I cannot remember the last time I actually took out a piece of paper and put the spider on it and took it outside to save its life. Yep never happened. It may have had no intention of hurting me to anything....I just was not in the mood to let it live. Good thing God is not like that huh? Did I tell you that Mary and Ryan took me to pizza on Sunday night? They did!!!! It was so nice of them. they meant to take me to Chinese food at Panda express, but it turned out my meeting went too long and then the place closed...bummer city. My fault. So then we went to pizza, but by 9:15 we were all running low on blood sugar and let me tell you.....that makes for some funny conversation. We were ready for some food!!! So thank you mares and ry! :) Okay i better get going to chapel. Love you. B

blah

Why does everything have to mount so quickly? One minute I am helping out my friends with their stuff and then the next minute I realize i have neglected to figure out things in my own. Ugh. I got bad news about my finances and that just put a damper on things. The womens cross country team is dwindling. i think there will only be 3 of us girls who race at conference and I can feel myself starting to get tired and worn out from trying to give one hundred percent to everything. It feels like I try to really focus on 2 of the things and then the other one starts slipping, then i switch and the cycle continues. I am just discouraged is all. I don't know if I am cut out for the real world and I sometimes just want to quit. But I won't. I never do. Nothing is that bad. I am just having one of those days. But I have been working on my projects early and trying to get them done. So that's good. Joey is really nervous about our business project. As we get farther along it is easier to see how it could epically fail. i choose to see it as somewhere in between. No one may buy into it, but then again some might and so lets try to roll with the punches and figure out how it can be a learning experience and maybe we will make a profit.......really really hope we do. Am I in over my head? I don't know. I am a wreck. But you wanna know what is hard about being a wreck when you are never a wreck? Just that. You are never a wreck, so I feel weird being like that and I am sure when people see the red teary eyed face they feel awkward because I am being awkward. Oh my oh my. Sorry this is such a debbie downer post as well as being extremely oversharerish. I just had to write it all somewhere. And this is where I am at for today. No lying. And Kaley is doing a ton better. thank you all for praying for her! there has been a lot of clarity brought into her life and some good news about her being an aunt!!!!! Her sister in law is pregnant. And the news came at the perfect time. Molly is still doing clinicals. She worked last night and then tonight and tomorrow. So as always pray that she does not get too tired and go off the road or anything. That scares me. Okay thanks ya'll for reading. Love you. B

Why is technology such a Pain?????

So you know how I decided to sharpie my compy? well heres the deal. the front part is rad and I have already been complimented on it. But I did the part below the keys and now it is rubbing off all over the bottom of my hand. dumb. And today has been a crazy one. Well not really, but just the past 2 and a half hours I have been working on this scrapbooky thing that abbie told me about....only NOW I can't quit figure out a few things and I am very frustated. Or in socially acceptable hysterics as I just told abbie on facebook chat. Only she has not answered me back. I am just mad that I did that instead of reading my consumer behavior. Its okay i will do that tonight. It is hard for me to concentrate in here anyways. I had a not so great race yesterday. BUT Mary had a great race. Maybe her time wasn't what she wanted, but she put in the hard effort, which I wish i could say I did. No excuses....it was just an off day! But that is okay I will reboot and get ready for conference in about 2 weeks. Less than that now. Our coach was sick, it was a rediculously rainy day, the course was all sloshy mud after 6 races had gone before us and it was just chaos it seemed. But ya know it was a hilarious experience. There was this huge puddle that we went by three times and I ran right through it each time. The first was because I had to and then I decided I was muddy anyways and if you ever want to feel hardcore....just run through a deep huge giant mud puddle. You will feel as though you are in a Nike ad and need your own theme song. At least for about 3 seconds. Then you realize you are still racing and it is still rainy. But overall I decided it was a good reminder that I need to get my rear in gear. Wanna know something odd? Of course you do. That was my last cross country 5k. Kinda really really sad. But I am trying not to see it in a negative light. Just that I enjoy each thing this year as it comes, but I can't try to hold on to being in college forever. Life moves on and I will have to as well. Easier said than done!!! It just goes by fast is all. I got to talk to Zoë on the phone today when she was crying and she calmed down when I talked to her. Whether it was just because a weird sound was coming out of the phone...or because it was my voice....it still made my day!!! And I will just choose to have it be the latter of the two choices. Church was great this morning. Sean talked about loving your enemies and how to do that by taking the plank out of your own eye....forgiving the other etc. Kaley, Mo and I went to the Volleyball game last night. It was too bad because our team was number 2 in the conference and they were playing the number one team last night and they lost. :( so that was sad, but it was a good game for some of it! Kaley and I went to our friend Chris' apartment and they were having a pumpkin extravaganza. They had pumpkin pie and muffins and pumpkins. We did not carve one, but we picked out all the pumpkin seeds! And they let us keep a bunch. That reminds me....I need to bake those tonight. They will make a yummy little snack later. The weekend went by extremely fast this week, but that is okay. I have all my homework done for next week.....but I have to get a lot of big things done early for next week. I cannot procrastinate!!!!!!! :) That would just be a load of stress I do not need! and can avoid. Only about 20 minutes left of work. Woot woot. Peace.

I dunno....

There is always the post where i try to get out there what is going on and then I suddenly realize how much I like to write on my blog, so I want to write another. Like the book when you give a pig a pancake, but kind of not like that at all. Also in case any of you have noticed I don't erase things. i write as I am thinking and then I say....well they know me and they can just read all of my random things. It has been a great week. because it hasn't snowed here.....unlike another place I know of. We still have fall. We still have the beautiful red and orange and yellow leaves that are the reason I love this season sooo much. But I do feel bad for all of you in billings because the snow took away the leaves I am assuming. :( I should have cleaned my room today, but alas mo was trying to sleep downstairs today after her night shift and I figured she would not appreciate me banging around up here trying to clean. even though I would not really be stomping around...that is just how it sounds in this house. We tried to come with names for our business this week...AND....drum roll please,.....they may be taking my suggestion. But even if they don't it was a great suggestion. one of the kids...aaron strutz....who is not related, but we decided we are somehow because he has family in ND. anyways....he came up with Virgil. And ya know we could maybe make it work, but most people who gave me feedback said it sounded like virgin or they thought of an old man and a lame product. so not what we are aiming for ya know? so I looked on dictionary.com and such things and I found the word nexus, which means to connect or link two entities, I believe it is from chemistry. But there are already websites with that name, so we would have to do something like... wearenexus.com or thenexus.com or it could be net on either one. And then we were thinking of doing a periodic table of the places once they get to the sight, since we are a catylyst. I don't think I ever explained what our business actually is did I? We are an internet marketing firm that seeks to connect the george fox community with the local businesses through information on our sight. The companies would pay us for advertisement and we would market to the students and get them to use the sight. That sounds kind of confusing, but I don't erase. But anyways we have a lot of work to do. We had a focus group the other day that was extremely helpful, only people cannot get it out of their heads that we are not a coupon sight. Everyone thinks advertising means coupons. It doesn't. It just means that they would have their hours and their menu maybe and then update the deals that are already existing. It is a time saver mechanism so that people can scope out what they want or if the place they want to go to is even open before they leave home. It is like mybigsky.com, which abbie pointed out to me awhile back. Only we would not link back to their website. It would all be on ours and help let students know what is in the area. there are many kinks we have to work out and even as I am typing this my stomach kind of hurts thinking about all it. But it is exciting too. At least we are doing something different. We just have to get the businesses to buy into our baby company. But we are not asking for an exorbatant (sp?/ not right usage?) amount of money. Probably about $200 start up per business. And they would have it up for 4 months. Considering an ad in the paper for these places is 200 dollars a day about. my group is getting along and we have great ideas for marketing to the students. I hope I am on that marketing team when we split up the seven into two...one who markets to the businesses and one to the students. But I have a feeling everyone will want to do that one. I just don't want the business to fail!!! We must make a profit!!! :) okay gotta call abbie. and if any of you have names that you think are relavent. by all means tell me. Or any ideas for marketing or how to approach the businesses or anything. or questions. Love to get feedback in any way possible! Love all of you! peace.

Sharpying my computer....yes it is happening as we speak!!!!

Yeah it is true folks. I was getting tired of carrying around my gross looking computer shell that I was forced to get freshman year after my other computer screen got smashed. So I have this one, which is fine only every time people look at it I can tell they are like....what in the heck did you do to your computer to make it look that dingy brown color? And I have to explain the whole story from broken computer screen to either paying a lot and a half for a new compy or use my hard drive and use this nasty shell that some gross boy (I imagine) who used it while eating too many of something like lets say doritos or pizza or something and then I assume for it all over this thing and now I have to explain it away and also look at it every day. That was a run on sentence if I have ever seen one and probably grammatically incorrect, but I do not care. this is blogging. not english class. I just was helping liz figure out an outfit to go to the salsa dance tonight on campus. I wish I could go, but I know that I have a race tomorrow and the thing is that I could not control myself and would be bouncing and dancin around and then would inevitably be exhausted tomorrow. These are the facts. I can't help it that I like to have fun at George Fox events. SOOOOO went to Tillamook last week. Had a grand ol' time. What did I do? Well the long and short of it is that Kales and i decided to have a relaxed weekend. Where we would just chill and not worry about the fact that we were chilling maybe too much. We watched four movies on friday and hot tubbed and I of course had to run all the days we were there. We went to some mexican restaurant that native tillamookans love. She always is talking about it. And I must say it was excellent. We went to see Julie and Julia in the little movie theater there and I actually really liked it! The lets see......saturday her mom wanted to hang out so we went to the blue heron and then came back to the house for tea. Her moms two friends came over to practice for church the next day because she leads a lot. and one of the womans granddaughter, Ashlynn, came over too. So Kaley and I watched the barbie muskateer movie. And we thoroughly enjoyed that of course! I mean how could we not. Actually secretly I like watching those movies sometimes, especially with little kids because it reminds me of something I would have loved as a little girl! Then we went to Lincoln City with Kaley, here mom and her sister in Law. It was a blast. We just went to the outlet mall and then kaleys mom took us out to dinner. yum. I have to brag about my amazing purchase. I was telling all of them how it is not shopping that gives me a high it is finding out of this world good deals on stuff that you really need. I have been looking for a raincoat for probably 3 years now, but they are always so expensive. We went to columbia and guess what? I got a coat for 10, 12 and one for 14. grand total 40 dollars about. And the whole full priced total for all three? anyone? anyone? no because it is too good to be true.... 240 dollars. That is a savings of 200 dollars. People who say you can't dress cute and affordable just are too lazy to look for the deals. mother you have taught me well. So there you have it. It is one of those little blessings and I am glad it happened because it rained and rained this week for a couple of days. Thus why it was so dang muggy today. Okay I wonder why I don't write on my blog more. It is because I am a writing chatter box. Anyways back to the three day weekend. So we did that and came home and kales and I went to bed and we seriously talked about africa for about 2 hours. just going through so many things. It was incredible to reminise about it all. I just was so out of it when i got back I feel like I still haven't taken everything in. I feel like it will be a trip that I unravel for years to come and over my lifetime. I mean we experienced an insane amount of stuff in 3 weeks. We went to church and sunday school on sunday and then we went to the cheesecake factory!!! And it was a beautiful weekend! we did not go to the beach, but that is okay. Kales was pretty tired and I needed to have a super overly relaxed weekend as well! So there ya go. I will write some more about this week and how things are going. i am the only one home right now. weird. mo is at clinicals til 7 tomorrow morning and kaley is at the homecoming game for the school she interns at and liz is salsaing and I don't keep track of steph. Okay peace. Glad I could write something for my masses of fans. Cool cool. Over and out.

Wednesday installment

Hey again! It is wednesday and here I am getting ready to do homework for most of the night!!! WOO HOO!!! This week has been great. I think I was fighting a little bug in my system yesterday. It felt like my body was not quite all there in the immune system area. But nothing a good nights sleep and a lot of water can't take care of! Our practice yesterday was exhausting! I got very upset after one of the mile repeats because I did not hit my time I was supposed to, mary had blacked out and I was just really fatigued for some reason. But that is okay we move on and I worked through them! Molly starts clinicals tonight. So she will have 3 night shifts in a row at OHSU. Joey is going to take her on Thursday night and then pick her up Friday morning. Which I am happy for because that was going to be the scariest day I think. Because she has classes on thursday!!! She will make it through. It is only a month. hmmm.....what else. I get to leave for Tillamook tomorrow night hopefully!!!! But we will see. I guess I signed myself up to be a ball roller on friday night and I completely spaced it so hopefully someone can take that shift for me!!! Mary already took the one other girl who would probably help me out. So I dunno what is going to happen. Kaley somehow got her scarf stuck in her fan last night and woke up to an awful sound and then tried to pull it out wothout getting out of her bed, but her bed kind of goes up when you do that and then her roommate steph sat up and squeled. And then immediately went back to bed. Without Stephs squewl kales could have toppled out of bed!! There room is the coldest because they have a door thing that always opens to outside and no vent. :( I got to skype the other night with mom, abbie and zoë!!!! IT was so fun. And it's hilarious because kaley has made some references to zoë since hearing us skype. Just about the wormie and the little songs we sang!! I am sooooooo glad that you woke her up abbie! It was great to see her! And you two of course! I just like seeing peoples faces! anyways. I better get back to homework fun. I have not really had much so I should not complain. Off I go! Oh we made a bunch of yummy things in cooking class today. i just lied. Most were gross. But that is just the nature of having her give us more exotic things to try. BUt some were okay. I am getting better!!! So who knows.....by christmas I could be making all sorts of things. Okay for reals. peace

Do not fear....fall is here! :)

It has been a super fun weekend. Kind of busy, but great. So I just got done with work. Mo is going to call me soon to go to dinner. SO I have a bit of time to write on here. On Friday night one of my roommates, Steph, hosted a bachelorette party for her friend Corina who is getting married in a week. Steph has been stressing about it for weeks, so it was nice to see it all come together and be a beautiful night. It was sweet of Corina to invite Mo, Kales and I who were on her floor freshman year! We did not know many people, but always have a good time with the little pictionary games and just lightening the mood because I think most of the other girls did not know each other too. I am glad we could help steph out a lot. Okay now it is Monday morning.....well 10:30 and I am just up in my room with a pumpkin candle burning. YUM!!! It makes it smell so homey in here. In our super cold house. I guess our power bill is pretty high, so we are trying to figure out what we can do around here. We are going to get small space heaters from costco that are only 40 dollars. So then we can have those in our rooms. We will be putting plasticy stuff over all of our windows so that heat will stay in! We cannot pay to have our house heated all the time! Just hopefully it won't be a crazy cold winter! I heard that it was snowing in billings today! That is so weird, but there usually is snow at some point in the fall! Anyways on Saturday we raced at Willamette. It is a relatively fast course, but we were in a race with D1 D2 and then D3. But it was a huge race. I got 30 seconds faster than last year when I ran there. So woot woot. Mary was only about 30 seconds behind me. And another girl was about 5 seconds behind me. So that is such a positive!!!! :) Get a few more up with us and we could have a legit team! After that we went to red robin and then back to fox. I went to the soccer game and then home. I was supposed to go to an RA reunion, but it turned out that bek could not make it back from portland in time. But it all worked out because mo and kaley came back early. Kaley and I bundled up and took a walk down to the cemetery that is 2 and a half blocks away. It was starting to get dark, but there was a full moon. So it was absolutely beautiful in the cemetery. we walked around and looked at the tombstones and tried to think of all the things they would have lived through. there was one woman who had lived from 1838 to 1911. That woman lived through soooo many things! It was interesting and educational! :) It was such a wonderful fall day, we had no choice but to make something with Pumpkin. Kaley had to work some things out with her boyfriend who lives in Indianapolis and that phone call lasted a long time. Which left Mo and I making the muffins. AND they turned out amazing. Moist and pumpkiny and Yummy!!!!! then sisterhood of the traveling pants 2! And it always seems whenever we want to go to bed we end up sitting on the kitchen counters talking til late. Kaley needed to talk and so we all ate pumpkin muffins and had milk in the fancy glasses from the bachelorette thing. On sunday we went to church and then rushed over to old navy because kaley said they were having a good sale. It was nice to get out of newberg and go shopping on a sunday. Sundays are for target. but I guess old navy is okay! :) I guess mares and I could go, but then we get sad because mom and abbie and zoë are not with us. The service was excellent yesterday morning. with the series being on love. he went through how we love others. Let's see. what else. I worked. We had another business group meeting last night and we had dinner and stuff. I just really like my group and we get things done and I love our idea. I think it could really take off! At least from a senior business project standpoint. I may be going to Tillimook next weekend. Well i am going it just depends on when. Alright cannot think of much more! Peace

Singing in the RAIN....Just singing in the R-A-I-N......

Have you ever noticed that on the days that you feel oddly tired, so does everyone else around you. i think it is because this is the first cloudy day we have had in awhile. Oh and lo and behold....it is poring down rain outside. Let the fall showers begin! Yeah I just have been in a weird funk all day. I am not mad I am at school and I am not happy....I am simply complacent. I hope I used that word right. Tonight mary and I are going to bake muffins, so I can bring them for my business capstone group tomorrow morning because we are meeting early before class. It is literally dumping rain outside. I hope it is not like this at practice. But then again I love wearing spandex! I have missed wearing them. Except how am I going to get home tonight? All of these are valid questions. I don't think I said anything about Kaley getting in her car accident last week. So she was sitting at the stop sign before you cross over to get to our street. and so you have to cross over a pretty big intersection and she was sitting there awhile and all the sudden out of nowhere an old lady comes at 45 miles an hour and rear ends her car. Her poor little green bean is completely smooshed in the back and her head and neck are still not feeling too good. Her car is totalled and then she goes on to tell me that she was going to get a car in about 3 weeks anyways and was going to just give me her car. All I could do was laugh! I know that sounds weird, but you know when things are just too outrageous you just can't be mad....so I laugh. But that girl has been through a lot this past month, so if everyone could be praying for her that would be great. Just a lot of things have stacked up. Like her grammie dying, her car, coming back to school, having to deal with school on top of everything else. So be praying! That would be great! :) Someone was just outright singing in the library. It was hilarious. She had her headphones on, but everyone could definately hear her. It was one of those moments that you read about in the embarrassing section of a magazine. At least she was on tune! I have to go to practice now, but there is my Tuesday afternoon update! Peace!

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?.....no

No no football for me. It seems to be that is all anyone talks about anymore. Beavers and Ducks and Seahawks and 49ers......I don't care. But then I like football because it makes me realize that fall is here. I am obviously obsessed with fall. I can't help it. Its just the way I am. I think I will make apple crisp. that sounds amazing. I have not gotten to see mary yet today, but I think ryan and her tye-dyed shirts yesterday. I will have to see how they turned out. So the other day during our thursday workout mares and I had quite the rough practice. We did all these 220 meter hill repeats. That part was amazing. We were rockin and rollin and then we have to do this thing where we are supposed to go medium hard for 15 minutes. Mary's upper thigh felt like it was constantly flexed. no good. I was not feeling good during our last 15 minutes, and at 8:30 min. I all the sudden got an awful side ache and started not to be able to get hardly any air into my lungs. So we made it to 9:45 and we stopped and I started hyperventilating and had some sort of asthma attack thing. it was scary. but I made it through! I think it was the heat and maybe some dehydration. I dont know, but i hope it does not happen again. Church was really good again today. I went by myself, but a girl that mary knows was by herself too so we ended up sitting together! So I had a buddy! YAY! We talked today about forgiveness and how that changes us. He had the stories of the adulturous woman and Zaccheus. and the challenge for the week was what are we going to do in the next seven days with our relationship with God and how does that flow out to those around us. I am always glad when I get up and go to church. Anyways. Love you all and I hope that this will catch you up! :)

Crispy

It is a crisp fall day out with the sun shining, a soccer game going on and the leaves are finally starting to change colors. I love fall so much! I think it is my favorite season because I love to bundle up and wear lots of sweaters and jeans and boots! It has been quite an eventful weekend, but relaxing and just what I needed. Let's see it started out with the 80s dance on Friday! Mo and I went and got a bunch of brightly colored things to make our outfits. I puffy painted a purple swearshirt and had black leggings on, a bright yellow flinstone necklace and tall socks to look like leg warmers. My hair was huge and I had tourquise eye shadow on. It was legit. So we danced the night away to some 80s beats and had a blast!! thank the lord for goodwill or I am not sure where we would have found such wonderful apparel! Soooooo.....had practice yesterday morning. Went to Kaleys grandmas memorial service. Went home and then Ben Hargrove came from Corvallis. Once he came over we ate and then got ready for a game night! We wanted root beer floats, which turned into mo and I still getting root beer, but switching the ice cream to birthday cake ice cream. And so we never had root beer floats. Right now I am scrunching my eye brows because I am sad we never had them. :( B-day cake ice cream is only good by itself and kind of makes you feel gross after about the 3rd bite. So I am not quite sure if it was worth it. Taboo and Battle of the Sexes were the games of choice. Then Alex got a call and finally got to take Mo and I to Muchas Gracias, which is a 24 hour mexican place in McMinnville. It is one of his favorites and he has been wanting us to go for nearly 3 years, so we all piled into 2 cars and headed over. It is definitely a place I would laugh at as I drove by because it looks so sketch. But I am glad I did not judge a book by its cover because the Oregon Burrito I got was totally worth it!! Supposedly they are getting one in about a block away from where I live in Newberg. Sweet! Now it is Sunday and it has been a GREAT day so far. With riding my bike to church, running, just chillin and now I am at the gym working. Tomorrow I have a test in Foods class. Blah. No thank you. I have tests in barely any of my classes this year. I feel as though there is more to say. I will write another entry in a bit.

Sunday Funday y'all!!

I don't know so much about fun-day. But when it rhymes you have to go for it! So right now I am sitting in the gym just working away. And by working I actually mean sitting at a desk and washing some towels every once in awhile. Not my idea of a hard days work. But 4 hours is 4 hours no matter how you slice it. Tonight is my business capstones first team meeting!! I know almost everyone on the team and I did get into Joey's group! Yesterday was crazy because I woke up at 11:34. What? I know 11:34 in the afternoon. I must have needed it. I did not think to set an alarm because seriously who sets an alarm for 11 in the afternoon?!? Normal people wake up at decent hours of the day like 8 and 9. Oh well it was one day! The Hargroves were in the area because they are dropping Ben off at school today. Ben is in college. Weird. We had Papa Murphy's and hung out. Then off to Lincoln City (the beach) for some fun in the sun! It was Ben, Josh, Joey, Mo and I. And of course dan and ruth. We only stayed about an hour and a half at the beach because josh had to be back for the volleyball games. Red Robins was our next destination, which was our second choice since TGIF was closed due to "business reasons". Sketchy. Need I say more. The Hargroves are always so kind and bought us dinner, which college kids always love! :) We hung out at our house until they had to leave. It was sad to see them go! It ended up being an eventful Saturday even with my late start! And today has just been laid back. Went to church, lunch and now work! Not too bad if I say so myself. School will start getting tougher here in a little bit! Everything is based on groups! Group projects, group presentations, group research etc. At least it is sunshiney outside today! I have enjoyed going to Northside consistantly over the past month because it makes it more of a home church than just one I hit every month or two. They are starting a new serious on God's Love. Today's sermon was really good. It was about how deep and wide and amazing the Love of God is. So yeah there's that! I am doing pretty good on the updates, which I am rather happy about! :) I will keep them coming!
peace.

I've hit a new level of lame....the teen pop station on pandora.

That has nothing to do with what I am actually posting. I just had to get it out there. Right now Ashley Simpsons song L-O-V-E is on....now it will be stuck in my head all night. Today was a GREAT day. Starting with a little sleeping in til 10. Last night we made smoothies, which let me tell you was quite the accomplishment after laying around for two hours in our living room telling ourselves we had to do something. Kaley kept telling us she wasn't going to do her 5 point assignment and then started it again. That happened at least 20 times. I think she did it???!!?? who knows. Then all the sudden it turned to an all out girls night with nails being done and smoothies and mac and cheese. Sooo great. Fridays are the only day i get to sleep in usually! It was the best!!!! i need to get some new vocab words soon. I only have $1 words. And then I find myself using them far too much. But what is the use of long words when you are a business major.....yep not much use. But just for my own self esteem I think I will try to use some. maybe there is a way to get a word of the day thing on here?? abbie?? I need to spice this blog page up. For all 5 of my readers. They expect quality. oh my i am way off topic. GOOD NEWS: 1. I had a stellar race as far as knowing I was racing. It was a hard course. And awfully hot. so woo hoo. GFY is putting up a new sports website so once they do that I will put the link up because there are pictures from the race today!!! :) 2. Our landlord put in a new washer machine today! So I am thinking that means no more bird and train sounds........I hope.
BAD NEWS: Missed chad's gig by literally 10 minutes tonight. I came at 9 and he was done at 9. Bummer city. But GOOD NEWS: the other band was amazing. it was tango alpha tango and they had a really good set. So at least I got to see them! And also good news is it has not been raining too much yet. how about let's keep it that way.
Okay none of my roommates are here and this stupid house is creepin me out. I just checked the locks. Actually I just lied I didn't check the locks, but I will just to make sure no creepers come creepin. After reading that last sentence I would say it is about time I took a shower and headed to bed.
*Side note to mom and g-ma strutz. I cleaned my room spick and span today. Thought you would be proud of me. Being all adult and cleaning up after myself! :)*
peace.

wa wa wa wednsday!

hmmm.....this week has been relatively chill. Today was my first day experiencing the Oregon downpours and my bike. I rode home and once I was inside the doors surveyed the damage and realized there was no salvaging my outfit because I was soaked! SOOOO.....my roommates are worried about me this winter, but alas I always figure something out. Walking should not be too bad. I say that now...until the freezing coldness comes. We just had African tea night where some people come over, all of whom went on the trip with us, and we just have, well...african tea and sit on our porch and talk. I have noticed I have to be a lot more intentional about friendships these days. Just being off campus and being a senior. Its a lot harder to be involved!! Today I also had senior capstone business group interviews. Joey, Molly's boyfriennd, is going to work really hard to get me in his group! So I am crossing my fingers because I know we would come up with a viable and professional business with him as our leader. I kind of am regretting not applying to be a leader, but I know I would not have had the time to put my full attention to being a leader of a group. And I am looking forward to soaking up all that I can through this hands on experience. I am pumped for the race on Friday at Willamette. It is a grass course, so that should be nice. I have never ran it before and I am ready to have a break out race! I had my best practice yet on Tuesday, so that is encouraging! Okay i better go do homework and keep listening to my journey pandora station! I have to find some things that deal with nostalgic marketing! peace!

due to popular demand....MY BLOGGING IS BACK ON!!! WOOO HOO!! :)

Okay it has been awhile since I have written on my blog, but no worries, they will be coming more now that we have wireless at our little house. Speaking of our house it has been quite the experience living there so far. It is so old, so it has a lot of quirks. Like every time we do a load of laundry in the washer it sounds like a bunch of birds are in our house because it squeks and then all the sudden it sounds like a train is coming through. And then in the final spin cycle it literally shakes the entire house. Sometimes I think the house is just going to collapse. But I would not have it any other way. So far roommate stuff has been great. Except now that we have wireless our housemate steph, who I don't know super well, has been watching television shows constantly. I do not know how in the world someone can sit around that much. I would go crazy. My room has been about 200 bazillion degrees because it has been so hot. But now it is starting to cool off!! what a relief. Last night Mary, Ryan, Molly and I all went out to Grandma and Grandpa camps house. We did not get there until 7 and had to leave at 9:15, but it was soooo worth the trip!!! Just to get out of newberg for a little bit was refreshing and it is always so nice to see them and ryan had to ask them some questions for christian foundations, so we got to hear about how they became christians, how they met and about africa too!! It is encouraging to hear stories of people who have lived out their faith for so many years and to hear about struggles and successes and about serving wherever you are at. We have such amazing grandparents, like abbie said in one of her blogs, it is such a blessing every time I get to hang out with either set! so there's that. and school is school. My classes are not all that bad so far, but they are all about group projects that are worth most of our grade. We are reading this book, "5disfunctions of a team," right now for my senior business capstone. I am always interested in what makes a team tick and how to better understand how to have everyone work together to reach a goal. So more on that book later because I am only about 50 pages in. It is a story with lessons mixed in, so you get both entertainment and learn! there is so much more I need to catch everyone up on. BUt I will save that for later!!! I have to go and work at a SAAC event (Student athletic advisory committee). I did not know what it was when they contacted me, but i think it will be good on a resume! :) sooooo that's good. alrighty bye!

I just have to laugh...

Oh...kay. Do you ever have those days where you are doing your job and thing after crazy thing happens and it takes every single fiber of who you are to not completely lose it? that was how the beginning of tonight was. But then it got sooo much better, so therefore I am glad that I did not completely freak out. How do I do that? I laugh it off. I spilled water all over a young woman tonight. And when I say all over I don't mean on her pants. It was like I had made a conscious decision to douse this woman in ice cold water. And to be honest I did not in the least bit get distressed. they were understanding. If you are an understanding person...thank you, because people who do stupid stuff, like me, need people like you to help us out!! :) So yeah, she was chill. literally and figuratively. But I take comfort in knowing that years down the road I may come up in conversation at the dinner table or at a restaurant when they laugh about how that one time a waitress spilled water all over her. And that oddly makes me feel better. I like a good awkward story, so hopefully they do too! well there is another waitressing story! This makes me look like an awful waitress, but it happens! I feel like I say that far too much! Oh well!
peace.

Oh hey good idea....why not just not pay for the meal..... :(

Soooo....I had my first experience with people leaving without paying. It is not a very fun feeling to not get tipped, let alone going to the table to find that they completely left. hmmm....In the grand scheme of things this is very minimal of course, but it happened tonight and i have never experienced it before. So now I have spilled iced tea all over someone, spilled the contents of the leftovers that I picked up from another table on someone and now have this. I shall add it to the list!! But someone told me about a server puking all over a table once at famous dave's awhile back, so thank the Lord this is all that has happened to me!!!!!! So there is that. For all the crazy stuff that happens there is always the good that far outweighs the crazy! Anyways. New pet peeve. People not at least paying. Have a good night/day!! :)

Only Two Weeks Left....

So I only have two weeks left of work, which makes me sad. Plus I have to pack everything back up in about 10 days!!! I went to a mustangs game last night. I sure do like going to those. I got to sit right behind the home plate, which was fun and you could see everything so well!!! Abbie and Paul and Zoë are in Oregon, but they will be back in a week or so and then Abbie goes out again with all of us!!!! crazy! I am glad she gets to come though! Road trip with all of us! There are an awful lot of exlamation points in this!! I must like them! I picked a book to read and it is My sisters keeper. So far I like the way she writes. I am half way through. She looks at all the different perspectives of all the people involved. Except, I noticed, the girl with the leukemia. It is interesting. So I will give a review of that once I am done. I should see the movie, but I may be disappointed by it! Let's seeeee, last week Mares and I went up to Bozo to get away. It was super relaxing. We just went up there and be-bopped around downtown and borders and then went to dinner with Luke! hmmm....not much else that I can think of right now. I am sooooo excited for cross country camp in a couple weeks. I think I am ready. But I am nervous! Soo I better get home. Ah all the sudden I hit something and it made the writing go all fansy. Okay I had so many things to write about and then...boop....they are gone. So sianara for now. I shall write again sooooooon! :) Oh yeah I put music up. finally figured out how to do it....thanks again to abbie! what would I do without her.....be blogless. I will miss her sooooo much! :(

Harry Potter

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Good movie. This afternoon I went by myself on a spur of the moment decision because I knew coming home would do me no good at all because I already cleaned my room, which was the only major thing on my to do list. Sooooo I went and I was the first one in the theater and I kind of secretly hoped I would be the only one in there. Would that not be super awesome? I think it would have, but other people came in and just my luck there are probably 15 to 20 people in there, if that. and I am now excited I have my own row. Until these two women came and sat down one seat from me with their loads of candy with their crackly wrappers, pop and other such things. Seriously? anywhere in the theater and you pick here? I could have had my own row. But then I decided it was okay when I freaked out at a hand popping out the water out of nowhere. And we had a good laugh and acted like we knew each other and then went back to watching the movie. Which is why I love random social encounters. you feel connected for that one moment and then see ya hope you enjoy your million pounds of crackly wrapped candy. But I was happy to not have to laugh to myself in that moment!!!
I am glad I hadn't read the book in awhile because I think that made it better! Then I couldn't remember what they left out.
I am not good at being a movie critic. But I will say that I think this movie will be better once the 7th comes out because it is a cliff hanger. Okay that's all until another movie....then another terrible review! :) peace

Bloggety Bloggety Schmo Schmoggety

You can decipher the title as you want to. Not really sure, but it sounded cool in my head. Until I phonetically had to write it out. Anyways I already miss mom, abbie and Zoë. It will be soooo hard this time to leave for school. Especially when I come home for the summer I feel like it is an warped version of reality. Because you have to get settled in, but the moment you do it seems as though I have to start getting unsettled. Not really unsettled as ready to leave Billings, one home, to Newberg, another home. It's just strange. But even stranger that this is the last time I will have to do the whole going back to school thing. At least I think so. Unless God has other plans, like a masters. we'll see. So anyways. Work has been super good lately. I always wonder what switches in managers heads to give me better shifts and stuff. Who knows. So hmmm........yeah what else. I dunno I am looking for some good books to read, so if all one of my followers, being abbie, has any suggestions just let me know.....not that I can't talk to you in person, but it is much more fun this way!!!! because I am blogging. I am a blogger. Blog Blog Blog. I am not going to get over the fact that I have this for awhile so get over it everyone. I accidently honked my horn today, you know when your hand slides and toooooooot. And these two girls on bikes looked over at me like I was insane. woops I hate when I do that. Okay not much else to say.
peace.

My first blog

So here is my first blog. It was on my goal list for the next three years. and soooo I decided it was one of the easier ones, so why not start. Even if no one reads it. Whatever. So yeah here it is and now I can check it off my list, but now I will have to keep it up. I am not a big technology person, so I will talk to abbie and she will help me!! But she is busy in the next few weeks with trips and all. I get to head up to super summer tomorrow with my parents and hang out up there and see what is going on. It is always such a good week. I wish I could have helped, but going to africa kind of took up most of any free time from this summer! Now just work work work. Okay well here is my very first bloggerish thing. I am proud. Not gonna lie. Now I will post it. awesome.
